~93PTS ROBERT PARKER 2006
The Blend is 45% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Merlot aged for 14 months in 100% new French oak. It exhibits a complex bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, scorched earth, black cherry and black currant. This is followed by an opulent wine with gobs of spicy, meaty black fruits, superb depth, and enough stuffing to blossom for another 4-6 years. It’s prime drinking window is 2013 to 2026.

| 92 Pts Stephen Tanzer Deep ruby. Sexy, deeply pitched aromas and flavors of blackberry, mocha, sandalwood and sexy French oak, with a hint of reduction. Densely packed and sweet, with excellent acidity giving definition and lift to the middle palate. Juicier than a wine this rich has any right to be. Finishes with sweet, fine tannins and a saline nuance. This really clings to the palate. One of my favorite Argentine wines that benefits from the consulting assistance of enologist Michel Rolland. |
