~WINEMAKER'S NOTES With deep color and rich, explosive fruit, this wine offers aromas of black cherries and fresh strawberries and toasty oak. On the palate, there are layers of dark fruit intermingled with sweet vanilla and spice. This wine has an incredibly smooth and long, lingering finish.

Tasting notes

Bright, fruit forward elements of wild strawberry and Satsuma plum lead to flavors of black cherry and vanilla with slight notes of cedar shavings. This is a wellstructured wine with supple tannins and a long and smooth finish.

Technical notes

A blend of 13-14 vineyards, the average age of the vines used for this wine is 85 years old. Harvested in October 2009, the wine was aged in American oak for 14 months.
